Venice…

...born, according to the legend, in the 421 but truly it's progressively created on the lagoon between VI and VII century after the Longobard domination. Built on a series of low mud banks in the Adriatic sea, Venice is one of the few cities in the world that can be truly described as unique. (In addition to its name, the enormous number of tourists are drown here for the extraordinariety of the place immerse in the nature and surrounded by the sea). More than 12 million visitors a year succumb to the magic of this improbable place whose “streets are full of water” and where the glories of the past are evident at every turn. Giudecca...

....its origin goes back to the ancient times. For someone it was a deportation place, for others it was a Jewish place as shown the same name. Then a lot of venetian workers moved here and now the Giudecca is a quiet country place, with green gardens and local aristocracy's houses.

Pubblic services...

....in Venice they are very expensive but you can buy, as soon as arrived, a daily or weekly ticket. The transports attendance is very good: a boat every 10 minutes. The service is present as well in the night but with less attendance. For further information see the ACTV site.
